Tsawwassen Mills 2016
Tsawwassen Mills is a destination outlet mall located on the traditional territory of the Tsawwassen First Nation. It is a part of the portfolio of Ivanhoé Cambridge, a Montreal-based real estate company with assets around the globe. The hallways and other shared spaces in the mall feature a curated selection of permanent installations by local artists.
My mural is a ceiling installation near Entry 4. It is a diptych picturing a fisheye view of the neighborhood of Gastown, in Vancouver BC. The larger panel is 80×14′ and the smaller is 40×14′. The photos shown here are from the painting setup – you can see the ceiling installation in the video.
The mini-documentary shows the process of painting the piece, and is playing on loop on bus stop video screens below the artwork itself. When you see the screens, make sure you look up!
